  • Risotto

Risotto is a delicious and comforting Italian dish that can easily be made gluten-free by using the right ingredients. Instead of using traditional arborio rice, which contains gluten, opt for gluten-free varieties like basmati or jasmine rice. You can find plenty of others at a store similar to Real Italiano (realitaliano.co.uk/collections/rice-risotto) that offers vegan, gluten-free, and sustainably sourced options. The key to a good risotto is stirring frequently to release the starch from the rice and create a creamy texture. To add more depth of flavor, you can also sauté garlic and onions in olive oil before adding the rice and add your choice of vegetables or protein, such as mushrooms, asparagus, or shrimp. Don’t forget to finish it off with a generous sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese for that classic risotto flavor. With a little bit of patience and some simple swaps, anyone can enjoy a delicious gluten-free risotto.

This particular chicken had a jerk spice that was straight-up hot, but the heat was light enough that it didn’t burn my throat. My mouth was really excited to have a bite, and the combination of the jerk seasoning, the bamboo rice, and the chicken, is what made this dish.
