What to Wear to A Picnic

Picnics are a fun way to spend time with family and friends, but special clothes are needed to make them even better. Depending on the weather, however, it can be hard to know what to wear. Whether you’re heading to a sweltering hot destination or to a park that’s a little cooler, you’ll want your picnic attire to be comfortable but still fashionable. Keep reading for a few tips on what to wear when heading for a picnic.

Skinny jeans and a button-down shirt

When summer comes around, most people look forward to spending most of their time outdoors. Whether it’s picnicking or playing sports, an active summer requires a comfortable outfit. Skinny jeans and button-down shirt is a look that can be worn just about anywhere by anyone. It’s a look that is both cool and casual. Plus, you can dress it down or dress it up – perfect for any occasion.

Floral maxi dress and sunhat

The maxi dress is an elegant piece of apparel that is perfect for summer. Maxi dresses are very long and usually flow from top to bottom. They are perfect for summer picnics, being both formal and comfortable. Paired with a sunhat, you’ll be prepared for the sun as it beats down, whilst the long length of the dress will keep your legs covered as you sit on the picnic blanket.

Crop top and mini shorts

For a more modern look, a crop top and mini shorts can be paired together along with a light jacket if the breeze becomes chilly. Shorts are great for sitting on the ground, allowing you to sit comfortably without having to worry about crossing your legs. Similarly, a crop top will keep you cool and will look great in photos.

Open shirt and shorts

Open shirts are versatile items of clothing, providing coverage whilst also allowing air to flow. Paired with a necklace or chain, you’ll look instantly put-together with minimal effort. Add some shorts and you’ll look effortlessly casual, whilst also comfortable enough to lie on the picnic blanket and soak up the sun.

A-line dress and heels

For a vintage look, an a-line dress and heels will scram class and character. To bring some summer cheer, a floral print is a quintessential option. A-line dresses are classy and comfortable and can be very flattering on many different body types. The lightweight fabric of this dress makes it great for warm weather, and the heels make it perfect for a more formal picnic.

Jumpsuit and sunglasses

Love the feeling of a flowy dress, but hate having to battle the breeze to save your dignity? A jumpsuit is an option for you. With loose, flowing legs and a fitted waist, you’ll feel glamorous and confident, even if the wind starts to pick up. With the addition of unique women’s sunglasses or mens sunglasses, you are all set for a great outdoor adventure.

High-waisted jeans and a loose-knit jumper

High-waisted jeans are flattering if you don’t feel comfortable exposing your stomach, whilst a loose-knit jumper will help to keep you cool, even with the jeans underneath. Choose distressed denim for your jeans, and stick to blue for a beachy look. Ripped knees will keep you cool too, whilst a loose-kit jumper in a neutral, sandy colour can finish off the summer look.

Picnics, parties, and get-togethers, there are times when you may have to attend a party or a picnic. At such events, most want to look good. It is a whole lot more than just buying the outfits. You need to keep in mind the weather, the occasion, and the season. The outfit should complement the occasion and also make you look good.
